Customer Review

I looked at so many bike racks before buying this one and I'm thrilled with it. We needed something for traveling across the Midwest with two small kids, who often require us to dig in the trunk of the car for forgotten items in their suitcases. The one critical feature for us was a bike rack which would enable us to still access the trunk of the SUV. As it turns out, that's not as common of a feature as we expected, so I was very skeptical that this company (BV) claimed we'd have no problem tilting this and getting into our trunk.

It worked perfectly. We were constantly tilting it with two bikes mounted on it. It was easy to do and we had no problems accessing everything we needed without disturbing the bikes.

2. Allen Sports 2-Bike Hitch Racks for 1 1/4 in. and 2 in. Hitch

Carry up to two bicycles on road trips or camping excursions with the Allen two-bike carrier hitch. The hitch insert--which fits 1-1/4- and 2-inch receiver hitches--is easy to operate and super secure for your bikes. Just attach it to your hitch, then use the tie-down cradle system to individually secure and protect the bikes. The carry arm accommodates a wide range of frame sizes and designs, so you can carry your kid-size mountain bike or adult road bike with equal confidence. And you don't have to remove your bikes to access the back of your truck or SUV, as the rack tilts back for easy lift-gate access and folds out of the way completely when not in use. Also equipped with a no-wobble bolt to keep the rack from moving inside the hitch, the two-bike carrier is colored with a black powder-coated finish.

Customer Review

Very happy with rack. Easy to use and fold. The arms down. Tilts out easily if needed. Holds my bike good but I also use a small bungee to hold bike against rack post and front tire straight otherwise the bike button tilts up and front wheel moved around bumping my car trunk. Helpful would be a metal “o” ring welded on the racks upright post so you could rin a locking cable through it to secure the bike. Someone could just lift the bike over post and steal it as there is nothing to put you lock through. Other reviewers said it shakes when does but I put rubber shims in the gap where it goes in my hitch which stopped it from vibrating so not a problem. It was annoying when rack was empty as it rattled loudly.

Otherwise this is a great rack, sturdy, well made, holds the bike tight, Velcro lashes are long, and hold well. At trail parking people have asked about the rack since it’s nice looking and folds compactly. I highly recommend this rack as price is really good and it made well. Only wish there was a heavy metal loop for the lock .

3. Overdrive Sport 2-Bike Hitch Mounted Rack for Standard

Mechanism utilizes a system to eliminate slack between the receiver and the rack, keeping your bikes sturdy and safe. Patented lever used to fold up rack when not carrying bikes and to tilt down the rack for rear cargo access. Padded clamps to hold bikes in place and 5" wide heavy duty wheel holders are all adjustable to fit most bikes. Installation is easy with most parts already pre-assembled. Power coated steel tubing will hold bikes up to 60 lbs each.

Customer questions & answers

Question: What is the lowest adjustment that the hook bar can down?

Answer: If you are asking about lowering the rack from level on down, there is only one adjustment down. I have a Ford Expedition and I can lower my rack down plenty far enough to get the tailgate open - with or without bikes on the rack.

Question: Why is rack prohibited from RV, trailer, 5th wheel? I seen reviews that used and says it is great.

Answer: I am unaware of it being prohibited from Rv. it does add about 3 feet behind you, so maybe that's why? anyway, it is an awesome rack and I highly recommend it.

Question: What is the maximum weigh that it supports for each bike?

Answer: I have 2 electric bikes one 62lbs and the other 68lbs. if bikes are secured with a nylon safty strap, bikes are good for 90 mph on I-95

Customer Review

I really like this back rack. It came in a big box with well written instructions and assembly went with a hitch, get it?

This rack actually has three locks, one on each bike center tube hook and one on the hitch pin. It can be folded up while on the car if you aren't carrying any bikes. I use a regular hitch pin that doesn't need to be screwed in and the rack feels really solid going down the road. Highly recommended.
