When you detach the valve connector, the tire valve would keep releasing air until the connector is fully detached. It's normal and can be accepted by setting up desired psi value on the machine. For example when you set 32 psi, the machine will keep pumping to 32.5 psi before it stops which consider the loss will be happening when you detach the valve connector.

When I say "little guy", I mean that affectionately. I've had a portable air compressor for car since, well, I can't remember when, but it's been at least three cars. It was measurably bigger than this one and not nearly as impressive.


I'm a big fan of avoiding gas stations for keeping my tires inflated. Beyond the awkwardness of the pumps, their effectiveness is sometimes sketchy. Now, with today's tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS), you get the reminder if you've gone too long without checking and what more perfect and convenient time to refill tires than on a rested and cool car outside your own front door.


This does everything you would ask of a portable inflator: it's fast, it's efficient and it's quiet. My old inflator sounded as if I was tearing up my driveway when I used it and it probably took twice as long to work.


I saw some questions about the potential lost air while detaching the connecting hose and it seems like the pump may run a little over the stated PSI as protection for that situation. The automatic shut-off when it reaches the pressure you set is a huge boon, as I can rumble around in the trunk or work inside the car without having to constantly monitor the pump.


I can't say much about the carrying bag, it's a silly little thing that's likely to tear over time, but that's meaningless when talking about performance and value. If I had any quibble at all, it would be that I don't seem to be able to shut off the light on the pump. It's not a big deal from a power perspective, just an OCD thing (why have it on in the daytime?).


This is a great purchase at a terrific price.





I should have bought this pump long ago and that would save me so much time and effort. I check my tire pressure regularly and I normally do it at home instead of in the gas stations. I have two air pumps already but I misplaced one. The other one is one that came with my NSX NA1 which is used to inflate a small deflected mini spare. It is a very small unit. I have been using this little air pump since I could not locate my other one. I have multiple cars and I am tired of unpacking and packing this air pump in and out of the tiny storage in the trunk.


The pump gets hot after using so I have to wait till it has cooled down before I could pack it back in that space. I gave up looking for my other pump so I looked for a tire pump in Amazon. Of course, I read the reviews and picked one with as much reviews and stars as possible. This is indeed a good move.


I have various tire pressure gages because I have a Motorcycle with the valve stem difficult to check correctly. My other pumps do not have this auto stop feature. That means that I have to guess how much air pressure that I am pumping into the tires and disconnect the air pump. Then I check the tire pressure with an air pressure gage. It the air pressure is not enough, I have to pump some more and checked again. If the air pressure is too much, I need to let some air out and recheck it. This is such a time-consuming process. With this new pump, I just set the desired air pressure and turn it on. The pump would just stopped at the set pressure.


The first time I used it, I watch the gage like a hawk. The air pump would reach the set pressure and kept pumping for a few seconds before it stopped. On the fourth tire, it stopped half a psi over the set pressure. I just unscrew the hose fitting and let out a little air. The beauty of this air pump is that the built-in digital air pressure gage would display air pressure as long as it is connected. I do not even need an air pressure gage. The other pump that I could not locate also has an air pressure gage but it is an analog one which is useless as the pointer would be bouncing all over the place when the pump is operating.



The reason that the pointer would bounce is that the air pump itself is bouncing up and down. This EPAuto Air Compressor Pump does not bounce. It sits on four rubber feet and runs rather smooth. There is much less noise than my other pumps.

There is a light on the pump which is a nice touch. This could be used as a flash light as long as it is plugged into the cigarette lighter socket.


Due to the in-line digital air pressure gage, I can plug in the air pressure pump and check my tire pressure. The readout is easy to read.


This air pump could eliminate the need of a separate air pressure gage and a flash light.

There are a couple of things that could be improved. The pump itself is fine. The storage bag could be a little bigger and there should be a small accessory pocket within the storage bag. These small accessories could be easily misplaced. I was going to put them in a small pouch but I already misplaced them. I do have to look for them at a later date as there is a spare fuse in there.
