One of the most basic needs for those who love caravan life is the drain hose. We have listed the best 3 hose sold in amazon for you.
1. Camco 20' (39742) RhinoFLEX 20-Foot RV Sewer Hose Kit
Camco's RhinoFLEX 20-foot RV Sewer Hose Kit with RhinoFlex Hose and Swivel Fittings is a ready-to-use kit made with the toughest hose you can buy. The two hoses are made of sturdy polyolefin and are reinforced with steel wire. They are collapsible, and you only have to extend as much hose as you need. This kit features bayonet fittings with four prongs for a more secure fit.
Included is a transparent elbow with an easily detachable 4-in-1 adapter for connecting to 3-inch slip or 3-inch, 3-1/2-inch and 4-inch NPT threaded sewer connection. The kit also includes a storage cap for each end. The hose and fittings compress for storage, and once the 4-in-1 adapter is removed you can store the hose in standard 4-inch square bumpers.
I have owned 4 RV's and probably 5 different rv sewer hose sets. This is by far the best I have ever used. I love that they extend and contract but hold that shape by popping into place instead of just stretching. I like the clear end so I can tell when the takes are rinsed thoroughly. They collapse down small enough to fit into a small tote for storage. I am not sure if they are exactly 20' as I have never stretched them out and measured but I have never had to use more then one section anyway. I'm guessing they are probably about 17' when opened and not stretched but I will never be further then that from the dump location anyhow.
2. Titan 17853 15ft 15-Foot Premium RV Sewer Hose Kit
The Titan 15 foot rv sewer hose is perfect for emptying the holding tanks of your recreational vehicle. Featuring the ergonomic ExtendGripTM bayonet, that allows a better grip, and the RevolveTM 5-in-1 sewer adapter with handle, the system can be attached to any RV sewer outlet and fits most dumping stations.
Made of TPE, the rugged hose is uncrushable, provides high puncture and abrasion resistance and excels even in extreme temperatures. Titan 15' RV sewer kit includes a 15' TPE hose, 1 RevolveTM 5-in-1 sewer adapter with handle and 2 end caps, ensuring there's no mess during storage.
UPDATE AFTER 11 MONTHS OF CONTINUOUS USE. Like I say below I was accustomed to replacing my hose every spring. The snow has receded and the hose made it through it's first winter in great shape.
I live in a motorhome. My holding tank drain hose gets year-round use. Spring means time to replace the drain hose. That's when the first 3 seemed to fail. I decided on durability and this set up seems up to a longer lifespan. I spent more than twice the price for hoses I'd used in the past. I am not disappointed.
The hose expands only about twice it's stowed length. The hose membrane and the internal structure are thick. The other hoses I had could expand beyond 4 times their stowed width. In working with this hose, I believe it is as tough as advertised in the post's video. It rebounds from abuse.
I really like the multi-purpose sewer pipe connection end. It's got all the standard pipe sizes covered. It is solidly built. The handle is a feature I will never do without again. I can working with the connection without getting my hands close to the nastiness. The quick connect to connect to the tank is solid and relatively long. This hose wont fail there. Any hose stress is away from this hook up point. The hose caps attach securely.
3. Valterra EZ Coupler 20-Foot RV Sewer Hose Kit
The Valterra EZ Coupler RV Sewer Hose Kit has everything you need to drain your camper, motorhome, or RV. This set includes 2 functional 10-foot sewer hoses, and a clear 90-degree adapter. Use a single hose for dump station convenience, or attach the two hoses for a full 20-foot drain to your desired location. The bayonet attachments are easy to twist into place and prevent leaks. With strong 18 mil vinyl construction, the sewer hose is durable for years of use. With a 90-degree adapter, you can choose the hose direction and assure it will stay attached to your camper throughout the draining process.
The transparent plastic adapter material allows you to easily view when your RV is done draining. Each hose quickly collapses from 10 feet to just 25 inches, an ideal size for storage.
We have had an enclosed RV garage for 14 years, and I've used a set of these Valterra hoses during that time on 3 different RVs. When we had the garage built, I had an RV sewer dump installed in the floor. I don't dump at the campgrounds without sewer connections, but dump at home. I've been careful not to drag the hoses across the concrete garage floor or otherwise damage them. So what prompted me to buy new ones?
I've used the hoses so many times that I guess I wore off some sort of special coating on the "hooks" of the female ends and "posts" of the male ends, and it was getting impossible for me to put the hoses together or take them apart by hand (I have disabilities.) That's it. No leaks or other problems with the hoses.
I would certainly recommend these hoses, but I wouldn't expect them to last nearly as long if I used them often at dump stations, or left them exposed to the sun for long periods at campsites. In my garage, or in the plastic tubes that I store them in on the trailer, mine are almost always protected from both the sun, and mechanical abrasion, etc.
